How does a Pet Wellness Plan Work?
We know that you want to put your pets' health above financial concerns. But as important as regular preventive care can be for your pet's health, it can still sometimes be difficult to manage these recurring expenses.
Our Wellness Plans 'bundle' all the preventive services that keep your pet healthy throughout the year into an easy monthly payment plan, helping you save money and manage your budget.
What is included in a Pet Wellness Plan?
Our Pet Wellness Plans for Goleta dogs and cats of all breeds and sizes include the essentials for your pet to thrive.
Pets enrolled in our Wellness Plans receive annual and 6-month wellness exams, core vaccinations, an annual fecal exam and 12 months of flea and tick prevention. Dogs also receive annual heartworm testing and heartworm prevention medications.
The Importance of Preventive Care
Wellness exams are a complete health checkup for your pet. They allow your veterinarian to spot the earliest signs of problems so that treatment can begin before the condition becomes more severe. These exams also provide your vet with an opportunity to check on your pet’s diet to ensure they’re getting enough daily nutrients.
Sometimes pets can appear healthy, but the early signs of disease can lurk in their bodies - sometimes with no obvious symptoms. That’s why we include fecal exams and heartworm testing as part of our Pet Wellness Plans, to ensure that your pet is in tip-top shape inside and out. Fecal exams and heartworm tests are designed to catch these life-threatening conditions, which are often undetectable until your pet gets seriously ill.
Parasites spread a number of serious conditions to both people and pets. Left untreated, parasites can be deadly for a pet of any size. At Goleta Airport Pet Hospital we believe that prevention provides the best protection, which is why we provide a 12-month supply of flea, and tick prevention with every Wellness Plan and heartworm prevention with each of our dog Wellness Plans.

Can I pay for a full year up front?
Yes, you can pay for the full year when you sign up for your Wellness Plan.
An additional $50 one-time membership fee is collected upon enrollment.

Do Wellness Plans renew automatically after a year?
Yes, your pet's Wellness Plan will renew automatically each year unless you request that we cancel your plan.

How do I make the monthly payments?
Your payment information (credit card) is entered into a secure portal when you enroll your pet in a Wellness Plan. You can choose the withdrawal date between the 1st and 15th of each month that's best for you.

I have more than one pet. Can I get a discount on multiple wellness plans?
When you sign up multiple pets at the same time, you will only pay the one-time $50 enrolment fee once (not for each pet).

Wellness Plans help keep senior pets feeling well as they age. Your Wellness Plan can be customized based on your pet's unique recurring needs, and that includes aging-related requirements! Wellness Plans for older pets include the standard core services, in addition to screening for various age-related diseases and disorders.

My pet is young and healthy. Does it make sense to buy a Wellness Plan?
Regular preventive veterinary care for young animals can help build a foundation for good life-long health. When you enroll your four-legged friend in a Pet Wellness Plan as a puppy or kitten, puppy/kitten vaccinations are included in the monthly fee.

Should I invest in a Pet Wellness Plan every year?

What happens if my pet passes during the 12-month commitment?
If your pet passes away during your 12-month commitment, we will cancel the plan immediately.

What is the difference between a Pet Wellness Plan and pet insurance?
While both Wellness Plans and pet insurance help you manage the costs of your pet's veterinary care, the types of veterinary services they cover are different.
Wellness Plans include preventive care costs such as vaccinations and routine exams, while Pet Insurance is designed to cover emergency services, accidents, or specific illnesses.

Will the Wellness Plan cover all of my pet's healthcare needs?
Wellness plans cover the routine care that all cats and dogs need (routine exams, core vaccines, heartworm prevention, flea prevention, and more). You will also receive a 10% discount on all surgeries and dental care.
